Position Summary: The family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or PA works collaboratively with the physician to provide a wide range of primary care services which encompasses health promotion, injury and illness prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of Health problems and injuries. Health problem monitoring may include monitoring of stable chronic health issues. The Advanced Practitioner will participate in community development health education and patient advocacy. The Advanced Practitioner will perform patient testing and make referrals to the physician as needed; write prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, system protocols, office protocols and scope of license and certification. Advanced Practitioner services are provided within a patient centered framework to patients of all ages and may include other general duties as assigned to facilitate office operations and ensure service delivery within the umbrella of GHS core customer service values.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
